Lacoste is a lifestyle brand, born of the inventiveness of tennis champion René Lacoste. René created the first polo shirt ever – initially for himself and his friends – for a relaxed and elegant look both on and off the tennis courts. Dubbed 'the Crocodile' by the 1920's press, the multiple Grand Slam tennis champion had the animal embroidered on the blazer he wore on court, before making it the logo of his famous polo shirt. The Crocodile brand today is present in 120 countries through a carefully selected distribution network.
